This was probably one of the quickest shoots I’ve had. 5 month old Phoenix was willing to do whatever I wanted in a short amount of time! He sat up all by himself for the first time during our session too! What a great documentation of a milestone.
His father, James and I have known each other since childhood. James’ sister, Mary, is my best friend who is mom to Addsion…I’ve blogged about her a couple of times on here. SO, Phoenix and Addison are cousins AND are only 3 days apart! How cool is that?
It’s always exciting to see friends with new babies, but not so exciting to realize we are getting older! LOL!
Paul is all grown up! I’ve known him since he was a toddler, so seeing him this way makes me feel really old! I remember him being a very active kid-jumping, climbing, bouncing and staying up all night long! He has changed since those days but one thing that has remained the same is his smile :). Not very many people smile with their eyes, but Paul does, without even knowing it! It’s the same smile he had as a young boy and the one that I tried to capture in these images…
The cold weather has kept us indoors, but today I decided to brave it and take Maya outside! She’s content with playing inside, but sometimes I feel like she needs to feel the wind…however, today was not a good day! Even though the sun was out it was blisteringly COLD! Where is this weather coming from?
I didn’t last long…3 minutes and two passes down the slide for Maya was all I could take! She acted like it was a warm sunny day and didn’t let a little wind and chill phase her. Ahhh….to be a kid again!
I know! I keeping on dwelling on how time is just passing by. I’ve realized that having a child makes time go by so much faster. In a way it’s good and in a way not. Maya is almost 2 1/2 years old. I really cannot believe that I have had my child for that long. It feels like just yesterday I was feeding her sweet potatoes from a jar and bathing her in the kitchen sink.
Look at that smile! This is how I will always remember her….happy-go-lucky, not a care in the world, being content with riding in the back seat looking at the birds outside. I wish her to be like this… always.
